Turning Content Into Cash

How To Transform Your Little Cash-Weak Business Into A Million Dollar Cash-Pulling, Money-Sucking Machine Overnight

Dear Friend, How important is "marketing" ... really? You've seen the letters the emails and the products: courses, books, ebooks and teleseminars showing you how important 'marketing' is ...
You and I have tools through the Internet right now that direct mail marketers just a few years ago would give their eye and teeth for. These are incredible time savers and money-makers and they will allow you to generate tons of profits if you see the opportunity in front of you.

The question is, "Is it 'marketing' that REALLY makes the difference in your business? Is the hype of 'marketing' REAL? How important is marketing to your business REALLY? Is it all a game and hype? Or is there more to it?"

The answer is in your MIND. It's your MINDSET, once again, that makes all the difference. It's the way you look at things that will make the biggest difference in your life and your business.
People who run successful cash-cow businesses think different than you do. They look at business opportunities in a different way than you do. They look at risk differently. They SEE OPPORTUNITY everywhere and take action to go after more business at every turn and every chance they get.

They SEE RISK in every transaction but insure themselves against catastrophic loss by not investing large amounts of capital until they test and tweak their products and offers until the numbers are extremely promising. You may have learned something about business in the past that was NOT true, but you accepted it because you didn't know the REAL truth. The problem is that most people are not open to the truth when they have an existing belief that contradicts what they are hearing.

You need to open your mind here and suspend belief about what 'business' is all about for the next few minutes. A lot of people say to me, "I don't know what kind of business to start" So I ask them about their hobbies, what interests them, etc., and I ALWAYS find something they could start marketing immediately, but they hesitate because they are not sure they want to be "in" that type of business. They don't know if they should open a physical store or a website or whatever ... they are uncertain as to what course of action to take.
So our question is:

"How Important Is Marketing ... Really'?"

First answer this question: Are you "in" the "information marketing business"'? Or the "web business"? How about the "mortgage reduction business"'? Are you really "in" any kind of business at all?
Bear with me here… I have a point that could explode your income to brand new levels. You're not in the "information publishing business", you are not in the "mortgage reduction business" or the "coaching business" or whatever business you think you're in. You are in the "marketing business". Your only business is "marketing" (fill in the blank with what YOU think your real "business" is).

THINK about this for a moment. You can start any business you choose, but what is your REAL job in that business?

There is more to this than you think. .. so please stay with me. Let me give you some examples of how this mindset can TRANSFORM your business overnight! If you are an owner of a store that sells auto parts, are you in the "auto parts business"? No. You're in "the business of marketing auto parts". See the difference? I know it may look like I'm splitting hairs here, but I'm not.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that 'marketing' is YOUR BUSINESS and your first priority. What you actually sell is secondary. And I don't want you to think that just because you own a physical store that sells, for example, "gift items" that you are stuck with that method of marketing. A 'physical store' is just one method of marketing ... that's all it is. Just like a 'website' - it's only one form of marketing.

Don't confuse a 'method of marketing' with what your REAL business is. With a physical store, if you get a good location, you are able therefore to get your prospects' attention for your products simply because they are riding in their cars past your store and see the sign you've placed out front. Your location and physical storefront is a form of marketing-it is NOT your business. You are not an owner of a 'store'.

But don't get stuck thinking a 'storefront' is the only way to market your products (the "sign" and your storefront is a form of marketing-the marketing of your 'gift items', and to be honest, not a very good one because it's passive. Think in terms of more proactive forms of marketing like referrals, direct mail, press releases, coupons, display or classified ads and any other method that will bring business to your door... In other words, you are NOT REALLY marketing your "STORE" - because your store makes you no money ... ! Right'?

Let's be clear: It's the SALE of GIFT ITEMS that makes you money. So you do not want to market your store. Because your store makes you no money. In fact it's an expense. Your REAL business is the "marketing of gift items". You just use a physical storefront to HELP you market gift items. It's a completely different mindset than saying that you are in the "gift store business". Are you beginning to see this? We're not done yet. ..

How many ads have you seen in your local paper that try to market the 'store' the person owns. I guess it's pride of ownership that causes these shops to advertise the shop, instead of the gift items and the benefits of the products they carry. Believe me, very, very, very few store owners understand this difference and the mindset I'm sharing with you!

Let me ask you what would happen if you did not put a sign out or any kind of markings to indicate you had anything for sale at all in front of your store if you owned this gift shop? Nothing would happen, right'? People would not stop at your store to buy anything because they didn't even know you were there or didn't think you were selling anything at all! So you see that a "sign" in the front of your store is a form of marketing, right'? Is the sign there to advertise your store'? No. It's job is to DRIVE potential customers into your store TO BUY gift items.

As odd as this sounds, what is the most prevalent form of marketing storeowners participate in? A sign. And maybe a few local newspaper 'ads' ... that's it. Is it any wonder then why they can't make a go of it? So the marketing for most stores is a simple 'sign' out in front of your store that gives your name and maybe something that describes your store like "Gift Shop". Ok'?

Now people at least know what you do and that you're a business. No sign, no customers. Are you going to leave your entire business’s future dependent on that one 'sign' in the front of your business or a few ads in your local paper? Sadly, most businesses do.

They could be using a hundred different methods to DRIVE potential customers to their front door (direct mail, postcards, events and contests, sponsorship, drawings, IV's, open houses, etc) but they don't because they do not understand this important thing:

They are not in the gift shop business they are in the "business of marketing gift items"! When you realize what your REAL business is, you begin to see thousands of possibilities for getting more customers.

You use anything and everything at your disposal, test every method and keep the ones that work constantly. That's how successful business people THINK: They see OPPORTUNITY

EVERYWHERE! And it kills them that they will never have the time or money to take advantage of every opportunity they see because there are simply too many of them!
Know what business you're in ('the marketing business') and think like a master marketer at all times.

Truecaller introduces new app features to boost user’s expedience

One of the leading mobile communication application in the world, Truecaller, has introduced new exciting features on its Truecaller App.

This is line with the company’s tradition of constantly revolutionizing mobile telephone communication with interesting and exciting mobile applications.

The new features, including smart call history, availability, and a built-in dialler feature, are configured to make communication safe and more delightful for users by providing more information about those they communicate with.

Explaining the rationale behind the new additions during the formal lunch, Alan Mamedi, co-founder and CEO, Truecaller said that since Truecaller has become a necessity for hundreds of millions of mobile phone users all over the world, it is therefore imperative to improve the way these people make phone calls with Truecaller Apps features.

He said, “Truecaller has become a necessity for hundreds of millions of people in their daily communication by always knowing who’s calling them and protecting them against spam calls. We are now taking this to the next level by changing the way people make phone calls with our integrated dialler and adding more context to your contacts that has never been seen before.”

With the Smart Call History feature, Truecaller app users need not save contacts to their phonebook if they wish not to. This feature replaces unknown numbers with real names and faces in users’ call history even when the numbers are not saved in their contacts by looking through the Truecaller data base.

The Availability feature shows the user if the contact he or she intends to call is free to talk or not. This means that when a user is on a call or in a meeting which must have been scheduled on the Calendar App, Truecaller shows him/her as busy (a red dot) to the contact on his/her phonebook that also use Truecaller. So you no longer get a busy signal or interrupt someone.

With the Built-in Dialler feature which allows Truecaller users make calls directly with App, users can also completely replace their existing dialler and only use Truecaller for all their calls. It will be recalled that Truecaller launched the Truedialer in 2014 to bring similar improvements to the dialler, which had not evolved since the introduction of the smartphone.

However, following overwhelming demand from users, Truecaller is now integrating many of the great features from Truedialer into Truecaller to give the users full control of their entire calling experience with just one app. According to Mamedi the integration of these new features make the Truecaller an essential app for anyone looking to have more control over their incoming and outgoing calls.

He also disclosed that these features will be available for Android Truecaller users, and will be rolling out in the coming weeks.

UNDERSTANDING OPERATING SYSTEM

What is an operating system?

An operating system is the most important software that runs on a computer. It manages the computer's memory, processes, and all of its software and hardware. It also allows you to communicate with the computer without knowing how to speak the computer's language. Without an operating system, a computer is useless.
Watch the video to learn about operating systems.

The operating system's job

Your computer's operating system (OS) manages all of the software and hardware on the computer. Most of the time, there are many different computer programs running at the same time, and they all need to access your computer's central processing unit (CPU), memory, and storage. The operating system coordinates all of this to make sure each program gets what it needs.

Types of operating systems

Operating systems usually come preloaded on any computer you buy. Most people use the operating system that comes with their computer, but it's possible to upgrade or even change operating systems.
The three most common operating systems for personal computers are Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, and Linux.
The Windows, OS X, and Linux logos
Modern operating systems use a graphical user interface, or GUI (pronounced gooey). A GUI lets you use your mouse to click icons, buttons, and menus, and everything is clearly displayed on the screen using a combination of graphics and text.
Each operating system's GUI has a different look and feel, so if you switch to a different operating system it may seem unfamiliar at first. However, modern operating systems are designed to be easy to use, and most of the basic principles are the same.

The Windows GUI
The OS X GUI

Before GUIs, computers had a command-line interface, which meant users had to type every single command to the computer and the computer would only display text.

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft created the Windows operating system in the mid-1980s. Over the years, there have been many different versions of Windows, but the most recent ones are Windows 8 (released in 2012), Windows 7 (2009), and Windows Vista (2007). Windows comes preloaded on most new PCs, which helps to make it the most popular operating system in the world.
If you're buying a new computer or are upgrading to a newer version of Windows, you can choose from several different editions of Windows, such as Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate. You may need to do some research to decide which edition is right for you.

Windows 7

Mac OS X

Mac OS is a line of operating systems created by Apple. It comes preloaded on all new Macintosh computers, or Macs. All of the recent versions are known as OS X (pronounced O-S Ten), and the specific versions include Yosemite (released in 2014), Mavericks (2013), Mountain Lion (2012), Lion (2011), and Snow Leopard (2009). Apple also offers a version called Mac OS X Server, which is designed to be run on servers.
According to StatCounter Global Stats, Mac OS X users account for 9.5% of the operating systems market as of September 2014—much lower than the percentage of Windows users (almost 90%). One reason for this is that Apple computers tend to be more expensive. However, many people prefer the look and feel of Mac OS X.
Mac OS X Lion

Linux

Linux (pronounced LINN-ux) is a family of open-source operating systems, which means they can be modified and distributed by anyone around the world. This is different from proprietary software like Windows, which can only be modified by the company that owns it (Microsoft). The advantages of Linux are that it is free, and there are many different distributions—or versions—you can choose from. Each distribution has a different look and feel, and the most popular ones include Ubuntu, Mint, and Fedora.
Linux is named after Linus Torvalds, who created the Linux kernel in 1991. The kernel is the computer code that is the central part of an operating system.
According to StatCounter Global Stats, Linux users account for less than 2% of the operating systems market as of September 2014. However, most servers run Linux because it's relatively easy to customize.

Operating systems for mobile devices

The operating systems we've been talking about were designed to run on desktop or laptop computers. Mobile devices such as phones, tablet computers, and MP3 players are different from desktop and laptop computers, so they run operating systems that are designed specifically for mobile devices. Examples of mobile operating systems include Apple iOS, Windows Phone, and Google Android. In the screenshot below, you can see Apple iOS running on an iPad.
Operating systems for mobile devices generally aren't as fully featured as those made for desktop and laptop computers, and they aren't able to run all of the same software. However, you can still do a lot of things with them, like watch movies, browse the Web, manage your calendar, and play games.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF COMPUTERS?

When most people hear the word computer, they think of a personal computer such as a desktop or laptop. However, computers come in many shapes and sizes, and they perform many different functions in our daily lives. When you withdraw cash from an ATM, scan groceries at the store, or use a calculator, you're using a type of computer.

Desktop computers

A desktop computer
Many people use desktop computers at work, home, school, or the library. They can be small, medium, or large in style, and they usually sit on a desk. Once you add a monitor, mouse, and keyboard, you have what is typically known as a desktop computer.

Most desktop computers are easy to upgrade and expand or add new parts. Another benefit of desktop computers is their cost. If you compare a desktop andlaptop with the same features, you will most likely find that the desktop is less expensive.

Laptop computers

A laptop computer
The second type of computer you may be familiar with is a laptop computer, or a laptop. Laptops are battery- or AC-powered personal computers that are more portable than desktop computers, allowing you to use them almost anywhere.
Because a laptop is smaller than a desktop, it's more difficult to access its internal components. This means you may not be able to upgrade them as easily as a desktop.

Tablet computers

screenshot of tablet
Tablet computers—or tablets—are handheld computers that are even more portable than laptops. Instead of a keyboard or touchpad, tablets use a touch-sensitive screen for typing and navigation. The iPad is an example of a tablet.
Tablets can't necessarily do anything a laptop or a desktop can do, so you may still want a desktop or laptop to run programs or create documents. But if you just want to be able to play games, check email and social media, or stream music and videos, a tablet may be a good computer replacement.

Servers

A server room
A server is a computer that serves up information to other computers on a network. Many businesses have file servers employees can use to store and share files. A server can look like a regular desktop computer, or it can be much larger.
Servers also play an important role in making the Internet work: They are wherewebpages are stored. When you use your browser to click a link, a web server delivers the page you requested.

Other types of computers

Today, there are many everyday devices that are basically specialized computers, even though we don't always think of them as computers. Here are a few common examples:
  • Mobile phones: Many mobile phones can do a lot of things computers can do, such as browsing the Internet and playing games. These phones are often called smartphones.
  • Game consoles: A game console is a specialized kind of computer that is used for playing video games. Although they are not as fully featured as desktop computers, many newer consoles allow you to perform nongaming tasks like browsing the Web.
  • TVs: Many TVs now include applications—or apps—that let you access various types of online content. For example, you can view your Facebook News Feed or watch streaming movies on Netflix.

PCs and Macs

Personal computers come in two main styles: PC and Mac. Both are fully functional, but they have a different look and feel, and many people prefer one or the other.
A PC
A Mac

  • PC: This type of computer began with the original IBM PC that was introduced in 1981. Other companies began creating similar computers, which were called IBM PC Compatible (often shortened to PC). Today, this is the most common type of personal computer, and it typically includes the Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Mac: The Macintosh computer was introduced in 1984, and it was the first widely sold personal computer with a graphical user interface, or GUI (pronounced gooey). All Macs are made by one company, Apple Inc., and they almost always use the Mac OS X operating system.

HARDWARE vs. SOFTWARE

Before we talk about different types of computers, let's talk about two things all computers have in common: hardware and software.
  • Hardware is any part of your computer that has a physical structure, such as the keyboard or mouse. It also includes all of the computer's internal parts, which you can see in the image below.
    A motherboard (hardware)
  • Software is any set of instructions that tells the hardware what to do. It is what guides the hardware and tells it how to accomplish each task. Some examples of software include web browsers, games, and word processors. Below, you can see an image of Microsoft PowerPoint, which is used to create presentations.

  • Screenshot of PowerPoint 2013

Everything you do on your computer will rely on both hardware and software. For example, right now you may be viewing this lesson in a web browser (software) and using your mouse (hardware) to click from page to page. As you learn about different types of computers, ask yourself about the differences in their hardware. As you progress through this tutorial, you'll see that different types of computers also often use different types of software.
